Opening morning
« on: September 26, 2017, 12:21:22 PM »
Well another year in the books many close calls for the group, but I was lucky enough to get this cow on opening day.  Big group of cows and calves took off, and moved into position.  They were all running past at about 60 yards and I found my lane, Drew and held in my spot.  When he head hit the gap I let it rip and was pretty sure of the success with my lighted nocks you can really be sure.  Looked form the arrow or blood with no success.  After brother and dad showed up we started circles from shot and 5 min later cow down, no blood from shot to death.  "Dead run" 80 yards with no heart it's amazing how tough they really are.  I don't think she even knew she was hit until she fell down dead.

Congratulations.  From the shot, you would think the arrow completely missed the heart, but the other picture clearly shows the broadhead mark in the heart.

She was running on the shot.  The "Dead run" was after the shot.
