Mature BT buck was killed by a car on NB SR 167 just south of I 405 last Thursday.  I have been seeing a few, but not a lot of bucks out.  There is really confounding behavior on their part this year.

-Been out road hunting with camera the last two days.  Nothing moving and not much change in rubs.
-Yard cam last night shows mature doe hanging with her button buck and a yearling.  Seems slow in Stella/Ryderwood.
-I'm still thinking 9 - 12 Nov might be peak of the rut.

We filmed a nice 4X4 in one of our neighbors yards earlier today.  He was sniffing at a couple does heavy with his head down.  I would say early rut from the looks of it.
Look man, some times you just gotta roll the dice

Saw a pretty decent buck (at least a 3 point, pretty tall/wide) with his head in the clouds on one of the ranges on JBLM this morning on the way to work.  He was tweaking for sure.

I had a nice 4 pt cross the road by my house last night about half hour before dark.  He was definitely cruising.  There are some nice bucks around my house but you only see them the first week or so of November.  I've literally never seen one any other time of the year.

In Bremerton working today I had 2 Does trot across the road in front of me from a yard I couldn't see at this point and into the woods across the street. I slowed way down to a crawl as I approached the yard and was able to see around the trees I spot this guy trying to figure out if he should follow or stay put. He couldn't help him self and he was quickly right behind his current love and waiting for his moment of glory.

That's a dink, for Bremerton. Nice to see they are still in town, though. Keep your eye open, there is bigger boys than that, cruising the streets.

A friend of mine living on Whidbey was telling me the bucks were tearing up his trees and walking around like drunks in his yard all weekend. Said they paid him no attention while he raked leaves 20 feet away.

I really hope they are still in the mood for love when late archery opens in a couple weeks.  Doubtful I know but a guy can wish.
