  :yeah: Lol..... yes he does!

The great rut mystery  :chuckle:  IMO dont overthink it. If you can be in the woods, get in them now until season closer. Watch the barometer, and put priority on big fluctuations, and any good rainy blacktail days. Today was ideal for still hunting, but movement overall was minimal where I was anyway.  Saw several rubs very fresh nothing indicative of a monster buck.  I did tag out on a small 2x4. Glands were barely open and not real stinky. Not on does, but close by. I heard of a few other smaller bucks getting taken. The weather this upcoming week concerns me a bit. But its the magical.time of year when anything truly can happen. Punching a tag  becomes a double edge sword.

Lots of people complain about the rain, but I love this time of year.

I woke up to antlers locking up this morning. What really got me out of bed is when they ran into the side of my house. After the fight was done, a little guy came sneaking out of the woods and bread the doe while the others were chasing each other. Now the he got his rocks off, he's just chilling in my yard :chuckle: typical teenager. No stamina. If he sits here much longer, he might give up the ghost.

His neck looks swollen
It's like God threw a switch yesterday, turned the rut on like a light bulb! His neck is swollen, but the other 2 bucks were bigger. I wish I took a pic, but I was busy enjoying the show.
Lots of deer I've never seen before coming through the yard. Now the wife needs to head to church so I can blast one without her knowing :chuckle:

He's a handsome buck - he's got a post-coital smile on his mug too.  I'd love to see the two bigger ones.

Hunted the extreme southern portion of Ryderwood/530 till noon, then home for family time.  Thermals blew one deer out of a bed on a bluff below me, but other than that,  I saw/heard/felt nothing else in the woods.

Lots of guys lighting 'em up this morning in that area though.  Heard 17 different shots or bursts of shots between first light and 10:00 AM.  These are the days I go home depressed.

I talked to another guy who filled his general tag with a spike this morning and saw lots of deer out.
Saw nothing largish buck wise, but is happy.  He doesn't really know where how to look for mature bucks yet.
That means both of our new hunters got deer, and that is a big plus.

I got a forked horn yesterday that was rutting up a doe.  Saw 3 other bucks that were acting stupid but were all by themselves.

I shot a fork horn today. Not rutted up at all. Never saw a single rub. Skagit County.

Nice goin' 'cuum!  Good to get it done early when you're wondering if it will happen during the season at all.

I shot a nice 3x4 Sunday. He had fresh cuts on his head from fighting, but he wasn’t stinky at all, he was also LOADED with fat. Neck was starting to swell.
