2nd Deer MT Spokane North deer area 1050
« on: October 10, 2017, 02:06:36 PM »
I put in for this tag because I thought it might extend my hunting season as I could hunt the Nov 11-19 MF if I hadn't already filled my general tag and be able to take a doe if I couldn't find a whitetail buck, or both.

Didn't get a buck during the high hunt, won't have much time next week...so I'm starting some research.

Q--Do i have to purchase the second deer tag before the opener on the 14th? If I fill my general tag, I doubt I'll drive all the way to 1050 for a doe tag, although i might.

what in the wild wild world of sports???

A 2nd deer tag is optional. Whether or not you have one has no bearing on your general tag. If you want to hunt the season that your second deer permit is valid for, you need to purchase the second tag before you hunt.

I've got that, can I purchase the second tag after the Oct 14-24 season when heading out for the 11-19th? Second Deer tag is for both seasons.

You can purchase it anytime before you hunt with the second deer permit.

Thanks! Is that how all tags work? I always assumed they had to be purchased before the opener, I think it was that way in Oregon growing up

That's the way all tags work. You don't need to purchase them until you hunt.

My dad and I have this tag also. Our first time hunting the area, but will be getting out to some areas in the October session of the hunt. Shoot me a PM if I can help with any info or if you need a buddy in Nov.
