Where are the White Fronted Geese?
« on: October 12, 2017, 05:04:53 PM »
Hi all, with an eye towards the new WDFW goose limits... I've hunted for waterfowl in a lot of places in this state, but I've *never* seen a white fronted goose. Just curious - where do people find them in this state? I'm not looking for GPS coordinates, just a general idea would be welcome (mostly for my curiosity!). Thanks!

I've harvested many in the Snoqualmie valley during the first few weeks of the season.

I see them only rarely on the Columbia River reservoirs in the northcentral region
As long as we have the habitat, we can argue forever about who gets to kill what and when.  No habitat = no game.

Tend to see them during the early part of the season in Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties.  Some year there are a bunch and other not much.  See some in Willapa Valley Wednesday and some in the Chehalis valley today.

There is a small flock that flies into a pond in White Center every year. They will either be on the baseball fields or at the community pond.

Saw a few hundred specs yesterday and a half dozen blues.  They are around.

Tatoos and assorted gang colors are the best camo.

Mainly the new spec limit is just to bait the out of state hunters up here to pay for guided hunts on all the nice leases.  Places in Canada you will only see specs early in the year thick and could shot 10 per hour easy but the limit was only 3 per day when last I hunted there.
Don't read my post if facts hurt your feeling.
