Yep.  S&W Mountain Gun in .45 Coit.  Pretty potent medicine for a relatively light weight revolver.

I thought you could carry a sidearm for any outdoor activity for protection. but I could be wrong..
(a) It is unlawful for any person to carry or have in his possession any firearm while archery hunting in the field during an archery season specified for that area, except for modern handguns carried for personal protection. Modern handguns cannot be used to hunt big game or dispatch wounded big game during an archery big game hunting season
So this is a bit tricky  since bear and cougar season overlap with archery.
Does this mean that I cannot hunt bear with rifle in archery elk or deer. I saw a couple of nice bear during elk season. Would I need to leave my bow at camp and head out for bear with rifle or pistol during archery deer or elk?
And to answer the original thread., I carry my 9mm S&W.

Pretty sure 9mm isn't legal for hunting big game.  Pretty sure a recent change allowed side arm for archery under specific circumstances.  Also if you are legit concealed who the heck is gonna know :o

Always.  Im not particularly worried about 4 legged critters though, I  have however seen some bizarre 2 legged ones.

A handgun must  be .24 caliber or larger and have a barrel of at least 4 inches to be legal for big game.

Yes,I recall that which was why I used to carry a 357 revolver that was 4 3/4  8)  I guess you are correct 9 is legal being essentially a 38, but not sure,I would HUNT with that maybe opportunistic killing kinda like how bears hunt :)

Always.  Never ever go without.  I've had to kill one bear with my pistol.

The one time I went bow hunting and left my pistol under the seat I had something... I think a cougar follow me back to the truck after dark... I will never go out into the woods again without a pistol.  Between the cats, wolves or crack heads your ignorant if you go in healed.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
