Anyone have experience with the cheap kuiu teton gear?

I have the Yukon set, the chugach pants, and the Teton set.  The Yukon set is the  heaviest and most durable.    The chugach is  still fairly durable but is light enough to be packable and worn over  another pair of pants.   I have never worn the Teton set, But it is extremely lightweight so I question it's durability.  So far, everything I've worn from kuiu has been outstanding.  Kuiu  rain gear is not particularly quiet but it will definitely keep you dry.  If you're interested in the Teton set I'll sell you mine.  Size large, pants still in packaging, both never worn.

Thanks but I would need a bigger size

I’ve got the Kuiu chugach and Teton sets. I keep the Teton set in my day pack at all times during early season, as it’s so light I never even know it’s there. I just use it for sitting out the occasional September rain squal. The chugach comes out as the season gets later. Late Archery it’s chugach everyday.
And like a few others, I’m done with Firstlite. Everything I’ve bought from them has fallen apart (even the Red Desert boxers) and the customer service is crap ( in my experience at least).

I've had great experience with First Lite cust.service,no complaints.
As stated any rain gear that is breathable will soak through eventually. If I'm just sitting for a long time in heavy rain I will usually pull a syl.nylon poncho over me and my pack

KUIU Yukon jacket and pants when the weather looks truly awful, but I'm wearing it all day or my entire hunt. I don't just keep it in my pack as it's heavy. I have their Ultra NX set for packable rain gear but treat that much differently.  If not wearing my Yukon, i.e.. decent forecast, the Ultra NX comes out when a September rainstorm occurs, and I wait it out. I don't move through brush with it, it's limited to hiking trails, gated roads, etc.. while it's on. Never been wet with either. Like the Yukon for cold wind too. I wear the top a lot in MT (average 2.5 weeks a year hunting in MT).

There are some great values in milsurp gear these days. I use Danner ICH milsurp boots ($100 new on Ebay) for backcountry hunting and they definitely hunt better than the $300 Scarpas they replaced.

For rain gear I have the Kuiu Chugach set and have been happy with it over 4 seasons of general season backpack hunting.

call me stupid, no raingear, i prefer my heavy jackets with a rain hat
You know your hunt went well when you had a shot that was unethical and you never took it, even if you never got your bull.

Not stupid, just wet  :chuckle:  I like being dry. Actually being wet is one of my least favorite things on earth.
