He's survived predators, bad winters, droughts, stumbling hunters, disease, probably some dicey road crossings during the rut and who knows what else. He's spread some seriously superior genes throughout his long life and fought like a prize fighter every single year to do so (good times).  I'm of the opinion that this old gentleman/warrior dies on his terms, in his bed, reminiscing about how he defied the odds and did HIS thing for so many years.
:yeah:

Wouldn't that be great? Unfortunately mother nature is a cruel girl (sorry edited) and in her world guys like him rarely die peacefully in their bed. I'd say that unless he is taken by a hunter he will endure some sort of suffering before he goes whether its injury, starvation, or predator.  I'd prefer it if some deserving hunter got him quickly and cleanly then hung him on the wall as a trophy to be remembered for years to come.

Phenomenal Buck!! In my opinion one of your best. On a side note, just curious what is roughly the average distance you take pictures of these bucks?  In most of your photos it seems the deer don't know your around.

I wouldn’t want to eat him.  :twocents:

Hell of an old warrior though.  :kneel:

Thank you.
I shoot for about 30-35 yards.   About good longbow range.  Some places that isn’t easy and I have to use a doubler or crop the pic.  This happened to be full frame.  He was more interested in his doe than he was me.

Thanks everyone.   My favorite bucks are these old ones.  Basically because of the reasons everyone has stated.   There just aren’t very many that make it to this age, especially in this state.

Have you ever had someone not see you and shoot a buck that you’ve snuck in on for pictures during one of the late hunts?

Amazing!
Any profile side pictures, or keeping those for the calendar?

On a side note, do you have one of the hoodys sold on your site with one of your pictures? If so, how is the fit and how did the picture turn out? And if so, can you post a picture of the hoody? I have some ideas in mind that I'd like to try with a hoody and picture from your site.

Edit: I don't see hoodys on there anymore, am I missing them or not selling anymore?
