Late Whitetail Hunt, Chewelah, Colville, Lodging?
« on: November 12, 2017, 02:04:27 PM »
Me and the wife are going over to the Chewelah/Colville area this week for the late modern whitetail hunt. Any suggestions on where to stay? Motel?

Looking inexpensive? Selkirk Motel in Colville. They get a lot of hunters.

I’m one of them, lol. I booked my room at the Selkirk Motel back in end of October and they had 2 rooms left and I took one  :yike: sounds like they book fast after modern rifle general...

Benny's always seems to be recommended a lot here. I don't know...never been there but have thought about it.

Benny's, try to get in the newer wing as the rooms are a bit larger and nicer.  The hot tub is awesome after a long day out in the cold.

I do not recommend bennys...

Selkirk and comfort Inn hands down

Care to state your reason?

I've stayed at Benny's and recommend it. They have nice rooms and like Stein said, the hot tub is nice after a cold day in the field. I've also stayed at the Selkirk and I would stay there if money was short. It's a little better than staying in a tent, clean and warm, but nothing fancy. The Chewellah Inn is another option. I've stayed there twice and for $50, it can't be beat. For a little more money, around $120, there is Mountain View Lodge in Chewellah. Its a BnB, my wife likes it there.
I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I'm not!

Thanks for all the suggestions!  About the Beaver Lodge, how much snow do they get this time of the year? Is it still huntable during this late season? I see that there is a lot of private land in this part of the state.

There is usually snow but not tons. We have never had an issue and there is plenty of public ground up there.
