Federal B.O.R Lock 270gr. ( Deer picture added )
« on: November 26, 2017, 05:00:17 PM »
Federal B.O.R Lock  270 gr. Love these things!! This is the recovered bullet from this years deer. That makes two in a row one shot instant drop, they are devastating. Rifle is a T/C Black Diamond XR, 100grs  777  FFG. this load is very accurate in my rifle.

Decided I should have included a picture of the deer. I call him my barely buck, barely legal. Had him on camera could tell him from others with his half of a ear. But somewhere along the way broke off both eye guards, 1 1/8" the longest , was all that was left on one side.

Very nice. I thought about trying these bullets out of my TC system 1. I've had good luck with powerboat bullets on accuracy but definitely not convince on there performance. Although I've had some deer go right down, others seem to take forever to die even on pretty good placement of shots. Some have been pass through and some have recovered on skin on far side fully mushroomed. They seem like they do the job but looking for quicker results and more shock trauma and seeing these federal bore lock bullets have somewhat similar design and the reviews of quick results/recovery makes me want to give them a try. Saboted bullets don't group well out of that gun for me. So this may be future go to bullets. Thanks for the review. And congrats on the success.

Congrats, I am shooting them in one of my muzzleloaders and been real happy so far with them.

Looks like a Barnes knockoff.  I've always liked the 100% copper bullets they seem to hold together well and expand much more then your traditional lead core jacketed bullet.

Took this doe the last week of the season with the same bullet, deer dropped on the spot after taking out the lungs.   I found they gave me the best accuracy of all the different bullets I tried in my CVA Accura and was happy with the way they performed in the field.

Midway USA has these on sale right now.   They might drop down a little cheaper after Christmas.
