There is zero opinion in what you'll read below. Just straight numbers. Success rates as a whole have not gone down, but numbers of hunters have.

Before 2006 there weren't any wolves in this state.

Total deer harvest of all weapon types, number of hunters, success rate

GMU 124  Mount Spokane
2006: 2537, 7811, 32.5%
2016: 2176, 5917, 36.8%

GMU 121 Huckleberry
2006: 2405, 7809, 30.8%
2016: 2014, 5557, 36.2%

GMU 117    49 degrees
2006: 1635, 5347, 30.6%
2016: 1438, 4981, 28.9%

GMU 101   Sherman
2006: 1220, 4845, 25.2%
2016: 1101, 4124, 26.7%

GMU 108  Douglas
2006: 465, 1406, 33.1%
2016: 458, 1276, 35.9%

GMU 111   Aladdin
2006: 510, 1718, 29.7%
2016: 449, 1511, 29.7%

GMU 224
2006: 209, 1623, 12.9%
2016: 305, 1817,  16.8%

GMU 218
2006: 201, 1479, 13.6%
2016: 251, 1807, 13.9%

GMU 239
2006: 112, 1060, 10.6%
2016: 209, 947, 22.1%

GMU 247 Entiat
2006: 120, 1299, 9.2%
2016: 296, 1699, 17.4%

The Statement "Before 2006 there weren't any wolves in this state."  Is Total BS! Which makes me wonder about the rest, please explain..

:yeah: Again people believing only what wdfw feeds them!

Maybe it's just an oversight on your part but I do find it ironic you didn't add 113 in there as well which could be argued as one of the most impacted units of any in Washington. But here I'll do it for you.

GMU 113 Selkirk
2006: 727, 2580, 28.2%
2016: 427, 1951, 21.8%

I hadn't looked at that one, I just found the GMUs with the highest harvest rates in NE WA and just arbitrarily stopped where I did. Then I added some east Cascades GMUs to account for mule deer.

GMU 113
2000: 456, 4478, 10.0%
2001: 577, 2497, 13.0%
2002: 467, 2549, 18.0%
2003: 614, 2494, 25.0%
2004: 621, 2686, 23.0%
2005: 636, 2331, 27.3%
2006: 727, 2580, 28.2%
2007: 556, 2688, 20.7%
2008: 443, ?
2009: 396, 2251, 17.6%
2010: 388, 1963, 19.8%
2011: 412, 2130, 19.3%
2012: 441, 2109, 20.9%
2013: 453, 2189, 20.7%
2014: 427, 2107, 20.2%
2015: 578, 2094, 27.6%   the wolves must have gone on vacation this year
2016: 427, 1951, 21.8%

I am curious, did they not just spend tons of money to takeout most of the Smackout pack with a “professional” hunter?
When they were tracking a mating female the whole time?
Seriously even if they takeout 30% a year, if they leave the mating females they are peeing in the wind.

Pictures or it didn't happen....

Or the true story...wolf found dead when collared moose showed inactive. Wolf found dead next to partially eaten moose carcass. Cause of death, appears wolf choked on moose collar.

No pics FAKE NEWS, they’ll do anything to push thier agenda on the state.

Heck for all we know they could have been killed in Idaho, and brought here. Look at what’s going on in our political arena these days with all the fake accusations.

Now there is a reintroduction program I could live with. :chuckle:

I supose its random curiosity that led to the wdfw request for hunters to report days in the field, by unit, in the NE and whether they even saw a moose.  Yep, everything's cool.

I wonder how WDFW will afford to pay for all the damage that wolves are doing when the average hunter finally stops buying a license because there are no game animals left to hunt? This liberal state and game department brushes this all under the rug (kind of like hoof rot) and only pushes their liberal agenda.

I'm about done with hunting this state and would gladly donate my license and permit fees to some group to fight Conservation NW and other similar groups if I thought it would make a prayers chance in hell difference. I don't even care that I have nearly 20 points across the board for OIL and quality applications because look at the state of our herds. WDFW puts more time, money and energy into predators than they do game animals, which is ass backwards.

We as hunters (the real conservationists) could probably break them in a couple years if we simply stopped laying money out there and stopped drinking WDFW's koolaid, but that won't happen with the permit system in place. I have no problem with paying a little more and hunting other western states that actually manage game. We should take a lesson from the anti's because one thing they do way better than us hunters is band together for whatever the agenda is they are pushing.

Wake up and smell the roses guys because they smell like *censored* and we are the ones paying for the wolf reintroduction program while allowing our herds to be destroyed. Rant over for now.
The best friend a guy could have asked for. RIP chasing pheasants in heaven Denali girl.

That's advised...

It's a numbers game and WDF&wolves control the numbers. Next week, month, year WDFW can throw out a couple more collard wolves or whatever number they choose, and of course the wolves will always be female wolves, that will be SHOT DEAD. Wonder who came up with the "shot dead".

It's a joke and the sad part is the ungulates and livestock, and people of WA are paying the ultimate price.

Quite sure the "shot dead" wolves will shoot WDFW estimation dates for delisting full of holes also...

That’s a really good question.  It’s interesting how they can spend thousands to kill a wolf by helicopter but as soon as one dies by someone elses hands in the same area, it’s a tragedy.
