I'll be in the 101 this week and weekend before your buddy has a chance to get it sealed and close the unit  :chuckle:

Hope it stays open a while, I sure hate these quotas.

Your going to drive to 101.

Don't tell me they have shot BOTH of the quota already.  :yike:
That means 2 of the predators are off limits and the 3rd one is or should be taking a nap.  :dunno: There's always a few troublesome yotes to throw lead at as well.

If I had a snowmobile I would go to 101 ,I'm up there on daily basis for work, but to lazy to walk, and most areas I want to go has deep snow.
I rather piss in the wind, then have piss down my back.

I've been out once this year. Not enough snow on the west side to get on some tracks. I got real close a couple of times last year. Had one talking to me the year before. I plan on going out this weekend and cold calling a couple spots where some co-workers have seen them a few times in the last couple months. Praying for snow, but the forecast isn't looking good.

Me too, stuck to the west side from here on out. Someone seen a coug about 3 weeks ago on our road, so we'll focus on that. Snow sure would help though.

If I said what I really thought about WDFW with their quota's I'd have to ban myself.

According to the website they update weekly, but it's been updated every day and now 101 is closed and I'm not driving to 113 to get started over there just to have it shut down while I'm out walking around in the snow scouting a new area.   According to their site I should have had a week to chase cats because the site was just updated yesterday, and now it's updated again today  :bash:

I do believe someone has their "Mad Panties" on.

It's pretty sad when both of your favorite choices used to have a 20 cat quota when you could run them with hounds. Now the quota is a lot less and They are closed before they ever open. Total harvest for 105 in 2016 was 5 and 10 for 101.

 https://wdfw.wa.gov/hunting/harvest/2016/reports/cougar.php

Is this due to the fact there are less of them? If you talk to some of the cattle ranchers they will argue that.

Guess we are going to be slinging lead at the local yote population.

I started hunting 101 last year and I've never seen so much cougar sign in my life.  Many of the  land owners I talked to would mention "please if you see a cougar just shoot it."  Sounds like they're becoming a real problem.
