There are a couple of good books by Boyd inversion and Cameron Hanes.  Also Cameron Hanes has a Blacktail Bowhunting video as well.

I would get both of these, but if you only want or can only find one, then go for BTT II.

I'd also recommend Scott Haugen's book, Trophy Blacktails: The Science of the Hunt. The "science" part is maybe a bit oversold, but it's more recent and updated than Boyd's book (which is also very good). Both of them are worth a read, and probably more than one.

Hunting blacktailed deer
By louis g terkla
Has some cool intel nothing groundbreaking
Hard work ,boots on the ground ,and willingness to adapt to conditions presenting themselves
Dont get stuck on one spot unless the sign is super hot
Ive only ever seen the same decent buck twice in the same exact spot

There’s no substitute for boots on the ground. From my experience they only do the same thing twice when they live in housing projects. The day I learned the most about them was about 10 years ago in a tree stand bear hunting. To make it short I watched a big boy probly a 150 class 5x5 walk under my feet . He would take 3 or 4 steps stop sniff ears out and freeze. He would stay still for about 20 seconds flick his tail and move 5 feet and repeat In doing this he would pick a leaf here and there. I watched him for over an hour.  I set 3 cameras in there glassed it from about 200 yards away and never saw that deer again. I guess that’s why they call them ghosts.

Here is a great video so that you can still hunt more effectively.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.
