I am half tempted to sell my utv and get a four wheeler. It will be easier to take my travel trailer out with an atv vs the utv. Currently I have to trailer the utv and I have been looking at the utv truck racks, but loading a vehicle that high on my pickup kind of scares me lol.

What utv do you have? I'm thinking about getting rid of my low hour Polaris xp1000 and getting a utv.

It is a 2017 Honda Pioneer 700-4. Typical aftermarket stuff like windshield, soft top, lights, winch, and a pretty sweet aux panel. I also have a new echo trailer I would get rid of with it... can’t remember the exact specs on the trailer off hand.

Super low miles/hours being I purchased it September last year lol

Not exactly sure if I want to get rid of it yet or not, but the thought is there. I love being able to take kids out with the rear seats, but a four wheeler makes more sense most of the time.

if you have a long bed truck, trade it in for a pioneer 500. I put mine in my truck when i tow trailer, i have extender brackets I put on the tailgate and it is about 10 inches from closing. Best of both worlds.

my cousin built a ramp infront of his long bed that when he pulls it up he can get his pioneer 700 in his bed with tailgate closed.

Unfortunately, I have the short bed. I was thinking of a rack that goes over the cab, but it might be a PIA to take it off and on as needed. I can pull my truck into the garage and use a pulley system because my truck sits too high and my garage door is too low lol.

I guess another option would be to trade my trailer in on a toy hauler.

I like those diamondback covers. I will have to measure the utv and see if it fits with their extenders. Their website is pretty helpful on fit/measurements. Good idea.

I will do some measurements. My trailer has the big fiberglass cover in the front that covers the propane tanks and make it closer to the tailgate, so I need to measure a few things, but if it works out, I agree, this is the way too go.

Here is my truck and trailer... for an idea of what I am working with.

Sorry, not trying to hijack this thread.

It should fit inside your Ford bed, barely, width.  Length maybe not. With tailgate down it would likely fit.  If you build a ramp/runner extending 6-12" past bed floor and up over wheel wells it would sit pretty. I fit RZR 50" in my shorty Dodge, barely. :dunno:
MAGA!  Again..

I have no complaints on the wildcat maxx, except the cost. I definitely recommend them. Fortunately, I received a great deal from the dealer on this one because the previous trailer I bought from them had so many issues. They took the first one back after two years and use only being able to use it 4 times because of issues, and then they worked with me on the price with this one... I am pretty happy overall.

It will fit width wise over the wheel wells. The utv is 60” wide and the width of my bed is 69”.  I will measure tomorrow with the tailgate down, but I think it will be too long. The pioneer is about 115” long and my bed before putting the tailgate down is about 81”.

I need to measure the length of the pioneer from the front bumper to the rear tires and see where that falls in relation to the length of the bed with the tailgate down.

If it looks like it will work, I will have to figure out the best way to secure/strengthen the tailgate cables or build a ramp system. Thanks for the idea, I will look into it. If it works and doesn’t hang too close to the front of the trailer, I will have a Tonneau cover for sale lol.

That picture I posted of my tailgate brackets, go to their website , they have 3 lengths and one is for tailgate all the way down. I bought all 3 lengths as a package.
