Don't even paint it and put an old canopy on it.  That will make it all the sweeter when you blow the doors off all the imports puffing their chest these days.

Like it :chuckle:

TCI has a street fighter 700R4 that will easily handle what you're doing for around $2k.   :twocents:  If they're still producing the same quality they were 20-ish years ago, I think you'd be happy.

What engine is coming out?

Navigating online reviews is a bitch. Website A says TCI Streetfighters are the bomb. Website B says they’re junk. It’s like listening to Ford/ Chevy guys. For the record, I have a Ford and a Chevy (well, GMC)!

Oh, I have no intentions of painting it. Maybe some wider rims, but stock looking rally rims.

That's where the 405 reference comes from. Area code 405.

TCI makes good stuff, many many drag cars have TCI's in them.

Plus you'll get a sticker.  Your local rebuilder guy gonna give you a sticker??

Since this is not going to be a daily driver, another cost savings option is to ditch the 700R4 and go with a built TH350 for roughly half the money.  Do you really need that overdrive gear for the extra money?  You could likely sell that good running 700R4 for a pretty penny and get into a built th350 for peanuts. I thrashed the snot out of a TCI th350 with a pretty loose converter behind a stout small block.  Held up for me, was happy with it.

Yer damn right I want a sticker! And it comes with a chrome pan with a logo on it, you know, so the pizza faced kid in the pit at Oil Can Henry's can get all worked up. I've thought about switching it out, but the OD is nice on the highway, so if I ever want to go fishing in Alaska or something...
