Looking for a Backcountry partner.
« on: March 02, 2018, 11:30:59 AM »
Here's the ad  :chuckle:

I'm a 32 year old who loves elk hunting. There's nothing else like hunting elk. I've been hunting the east side the last couple of years. Switch to west side last year. Found a place to hunt. Scouted it. Liked it. The problem is, its a hike from the truck. 3-7 miles is the norm. I'm looking for someone who is really serious about elk. Like to spend time in the elk woods. Scout for elk. Hang cameras. Etc. Oh, I hunt archery only. Planning on getting out to scout as soon as the snow melts a little.

Let me know if your interested.

Consider joining one if the many archery clubs around, and or one of the Archery Organizations. Washington state archery association, Washington Bowhunters, or Traditional Bowhunters of Washington.

In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

I'm always up for scouting and hunting.  It's looking like I will be in MT this year for bow season, but available early and late in the season as well as up for some scouting/training hikes in the summer.  PM me if you are interested in meeting up.

interested, message me if still looking. Never hunted elk, always wanted to. I'm willing to trade pack out legs for knowledge and experience.

I can do the miles, let me know if you can't find someone.

Like Special T said. Archery shoots are a great way to meet hunters. Went through a bunch of wieners for a few years then met a couple guys at a shoot at Cedar River Bowman and we have been hunting together for 28 years

I'm a member at Skookum in Puyallup and I am a very frequent flier. I do pretty much all the shoots, in the winter league now, and I've met folks. The smallish issue, that the guys who hunt backcountry have a buddy or two they hunt with. Hence the search. Already met a few guys on here that I think I that we hit it off pretty good. Time will tell.

Thank you for the suggestion and thank you to everyone that reached out! Really appreciate it.
