PBC 18
« on: February 06, 2018, 04:22:28 PM »
Getting ready to kick off the PBC 18 season. Figured I needed to use some of my antique fishing gear. I spent a little time today building this. It's downside was the use of the thumb turn to skin the fish. Wife told me now I need some fish to try it out on. That's going to maybe happen Thursday or Friday.

I'm wondering just how long it will take to knock the hide off a batch of perch.

So in the last couple of days my kid has suggested that I buy an underwater camera for ice fishing.  :chuckle:
Talking to another Ice fisherman he just returned a Cabela's Fish Hunter that failed to power up the 2nd year. I have read some reviews and they are mixed. Hard to see screen in bright light, Picture is grainy, To the best thing I have ever spent money on.

Open to pro and con.  Also if you got one which would it be.

Getting ready to go pester the winter perch.

I have one of those skinners. I remembered using one when I was a kid ice fishing with my grandfather back east. Fun memories made me bring that skinner home with me last time I went to visit. Sounds silly maybe, but it's one of the cool memories I have of fishing with my grandfather.

Found a few volunteers this weekend. Knocks the hide off them faster than you can turn the handle.  :chuckle:
