2017 Blacktail DIY Euro Mount
« on: March 07, 2018, 01:44:04 PM »
Did my first Euro Mount this year. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. I definitely will continue to just do them myself in the future.

:yeah:

What's your process?

Basically I just picked as much meat and tissue away from the skull as possible. Then I boiled the skull for an hour and would pull it in and out of the boiling water. Each time i would scrape away more meat and tissue. I repeated this process for about 5 hours until all that meat and tissue was gone. Once the skull dried I put 40 volume peroxide cream all over the skull avoiding the antlers. I let the cream sit for 2 days and reapplied as needed. Then I just rinsed the skull off and it was good to go. I made sure to avoid the cream on the teeth because I like the darker contrast of the teeth.

Good work! I do them all myself. My buddy taught me years ago. It's easy and saves a bunch of money
