Does anyone know if the bear bombs are legal to use or would they be considered baiting? And if they are legal has anybody had any success with them?

I also drew for the Huckleberry unit and I've never been in that unit. If someone wants to join me or help me eliminate a fawn killer, I would be very appreciative of any info that someone wants to share.

I will be up in 101 for spring bear, and can help you out in 121 if you need it. Shoot me a pm and we can connect.

I drew spring bear for the first time and read on the WDFW site that they mail you a packet for sending in the tooth to age, do they also send a "tag" for spring bear?  I figure they send something so you could prove you have a spring bear permit.

I know the spring bear counts to the 2 bear limit so I am more interested if the packet has some kind of documentation for the permit and sorry if this is a stupid question guys.

Thanks,

Chris

In my opinion, the only “stupid” question is the one not asked. Looks like you have the answers. In a nut shell, just a printout that you need to carry with you and they provide an envelope for the tooth. Then you have your regular season license and bear tag that you will use.

I received the packet today. If you have any questions after you get yours, ask away.

Good luck! Looking forward to seeing you post one down!

I am planning on being over there every other weekend starting the 1st weekend of April I can try and remember to keep you posted of where I find sign and stuff.

On another note does anyone that lives near Coleville or Springdale want to fill me in on what elevation the snow line is?  I was also wondering if the DNR land over in 121 is gated walk in access or if the roads are open to drive up.  I plan on hitting the lower elevations(2000-2400') in 2 weeks and figured that would be safe.

Thanks,

Chris
