Rockchucks Today!
« on: May 17, 2009, 04:34:58 PM »
My son and I got out for some rock chucks today. He nailed three with the 6mm Remington, and I got another three with the .204 Ruger. Had a blast:

Thanks! It was a hoot. Son and I both had fun.

Am loading the 40 gr Hornady V-Max over a middling charge of BLC(2) for just shy of 3800 fps. Accurate, and I am impressed with how hard a 40 grainer hits a chuck...

The 6mm with the 75 gr hollow points though - that thing is really brutal on the chucks... Literally rips 'em in half. Just like it did 35 years ago when I got that rifle...

Later, Guy

How many grains of the BLC(2) are you using.  I took a load off the web showing 30 grs.  Have you chronographed your load?  I've been told to expect 3700 fps with the 30gr of BLC(2).
