Tired of the coyote's killing everything in my yard.
« on: June 13, 2009, 05:31:42 AM »
I am looking for a good trapper, to kill off the damn coyotes.

Some history.
I live in the stanwood area on 5 acres tracks that have not been developed fully yet.

So far the Coyotes have killed (at least a dozen chickens),a deer, and recently my daughters cats (2) of them. I tried the remote call to try and lure them in to shoot them but with no luck.

They killed and ate a WHOLE deer within 30 feet of my bedroom window and I never woke up.
I have seen a coyote a time or 2 streak thru my yard but I have not gotten a good bead on them.

The coyote's will come very close to the house and I am afraid they are getting brave enough to attack a young child.

Anyone want to try and trap them??
Dan

Without the use of body gripping traps they are very hard to trap.  They're too clever for live traps, but that's all the tree huggers will let us use. :bash:  Good Luck.
Hunt hard and shoot straight!

I suppose that using a Thompson Center trap is out of the question?  You did mention "kill" them yotes.

You can call your local CO and get a professional to trap them on your property with a permi, BUT, the coyotes will just fill the void very quickly unless you can trap out a large area.

It will be cheaper to build a chicken coop with a good fence, coyotes killing deer is a fact of nature the deer were born to be coyote/human/etc feed.  As far as feral or free roaming cats, the coyotes did the local bird population a favor, get a litter box and keep them in the house as pets.

As long as the foothold trap and snare are banned in this state the coyotes pretty much rule.

Sometimes we have to learn to fit into the scheme of things instead of bending them to fit us.  You moved there the coyotes didn't have a choice and then you put food out for them, chickens and cats.

After the first shot the rest are just noise.

what side of the I-5 are you in stanwood? How close are the houses? I was born and raised over there, my brothers still reside there. We arent trappers, but depending on where you are, we might be able to help thin them out (bow, shotgun, etc).

I am not in town. I live out towards lake goodwin. I am pretty sure its a no shooting zone. I need ot bone up on the laws to see if you can shoot a bow.

you just cant shoot a centerfire rifel on that side of hwy 9. bow shotgun or pistol should be fine and dandy. no pistol or shotgun in city limits though.  I think anyways. I'm kinda out of the loop over here.  :tung:

It sounds like it's time to get a new gun.

We should hook up and do some coyote killing. Are you out of the no shooting Zone?? If you are a hunter you should stop buy and check out my stealth hunting machine I have been developing for the last 8 months!!

I am in the yellow no shooting zone.
Does anyone know the laws or a link to the laws about killing/shooting animals for depredation??
