10x42 Leupold Mojave or Cascade or Pinnacle??? Any info?
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:59:15 PM »
Ok so I'm buying new optics this week and can't decide..
I'm going Leupold for sure so no debate there and in a 10x42 and would like to go camo if I buy the Mojave or Cascade.

Cascade about $340
Mojave about $390
Pinnacle about $500

The Cascase and Mojave are very similar in every aspect except the frame design as the Mojave have the open bridge design.
The pinnacle are similar but have the eye cups and aren't offered in Camo.

Right now I'm thinking Mojave.  Anyone got any experience or thoughts?

Thanks!

definitely Pinnacle

Ok... Thanks

But why??

Looking through them they appear to be as clear and crisp as the others.

Go with the ZEN ED2's they are as good or better than the Leupolds. We have a sponsor here and you get a discount also. I have never touched better glass than the Zen ED's at least give them a look over. Charles may ebven have a loaner pair to let you try.
Some people spend their entire life wondering if they made a difference. Marines don't have that problem.

What'e their warranty?? Lifetime?? They pay the shipping if there is an issue?? What's the cost of a set of 10x42's?

I don't want to turn this into a thread with 30 people chiming in with their opinions on Bino's.  I'm a die hard Leupold guy.  Never had one issue with all my scopes, spotting scopes, binoculars, or anything else.  My Dad hunts with leupold, his Dad hunted with it and if I have anything to say about it my kid will also.  Their product has never failed me and having confidence in yourself and gear is more important than having a $5000 rifle and $1000 scope.  IMO.

I currently have the leupold pinnacles 10x42 and got them for 300 from cabelas.  I first had the mojave but did not care for the open bridge for the money I spent.   As of right now I have been using the Pinnacles for a couple months and love them.  I did look through a pair of the Zen Ray's last week and for the price I do not think you can get a better glass.  I would of went for them if I did not get such a deal on the pinnacles.  I actually think I will probably by a pair of zen ray's for a backup piece of glass in the future.

I have had Cascade 8x42 for about 4 years now and I love em. I would say Cascade's since I know Leupolds are a great company and I am happy with their scopes, binos and range finders. My father also have dealt with them and he is a Leupold fan.  :hello:

I have the pinnacles. I've also had the cascades, while they are ok, I traded them in because they are china made. The pinnacles are Japanese made and quality glass and that was enough difference for me. Everyone who has tried my bino's have commented on the clarity of the glass and I think you would have to shell out a few more bill's to beat them.

If I could get a set of Pinnacles for $300 there wouldn't be a debate.  But.. Since I apparently missed the sale someone was having I would be paying $500 for them.

I appreciate everyone telling me how great these Zen bino's are but I have a hard time spending $500 on a product line that I've never heard of.  The warranty looks good and they may be great optics but Leupold has a good history spanning back may decades and I know what I'm getting with them.

You spend more money on pinnacles and you get the same glass as the mojaves/cascades.Gold Rings are a step up,but not the pinnacles.  :twocents: KimberRich get the mojaves they are good deal for the price.

That's not true, at least when I bought mine. The cascades and I assume the mojaves as well are made in China. Pinnacles are Japanese ... big difference! Gold rings? Maybe Japanese glass as well?
