I am taking the looooooong route in preparation for chasing ELK this fall.  I've had back problems for several years and have been bone on bone in my left knee since the 80's.  Got 5 lumbar  vertebrae fused in Feb and am having the knee replacement surgery next Monday the 17th.

I've been doing a lot of walking but have been restricted for 3 months from anything that might loosen the bone grafts- lifting, twisting, bending ....  I have 6 weeks of rehab PT scheduled for the knee and a month or so additional to finish up getting ready for Colorado ELK camp at 8500'.  Assuming the unit draw comes through.   ;)

I'll be out somewhere in any case.   8)

Keep 'em Straight!!! (and quiet)

Greg

Ive been working out prety much everyday. Been running a lot, preping for the Seattle marathon im at 18 miles working to 26 miles. Im not a fast runner 9 min/mile. I ve been running hills and backpaking like crazy just in case I get drawn for my dream hunt (Bighorn sheep of Umtanum). Training hard so I can hunt hard.
Happy Hunting and Fishing

Just curious - The park service owns all the land below the 1310' elevation line.  Full pool to the lake is 1290' on the lake, so I was assuming that you be spraying noxious weeds for the park service that are below the 1310' line as to protect from infestion of milfoil and other types of weeds that take over.  Just trying to think of what else the Park service owns at lake roosevelt other than the couple of marinas and campgrounds?

We are just based there and do some work there. we also can go as far as Oregon and Idaho. Ive been told that we'll be at Stehekin, North Cascades, Ross Lake, Lake Roosevelt, and maybe Nez Pearce Idaho.. That's all i know for now other than its 8 days on and 6 days off.

For me its the opposite.I spend 4-6 hours a week boxing kickboxing and muay thai.On the weekends I get out and hike logging roads a few days a month. From Aug-Nov I skip the gym and hunt with my free time which leaves me feeling out off shape when I go back.
