I heard talk of a moose sighting in North Bend a while back.

" In today's instant gratification society, more and more pressure revolves around success and the measurement of one's prowess as a hunter by inches on a score chart or field photos produced on social media. Don't fall into the trap. Hunting is-and always will be- about the hunt, the adventure, the views, and time spent with close friends and family. " Ryan Hatfield

There was reports of a moose seen swimming in Silver Lake, Cowlitz count, about 10 years ago.  There was a picture in the Longview news paper. It was a poor picture as I remember, could have been a photo shop type.

I see at least 1 a year north of Spokane just while doing my normal activity, not out lookin for them.

One of my neighbors called two days ago and said her husband was chopping hay for silage and suddenly he had a cow moose running along side his tractor. She said, he said, the chopper would eat up a deer, but that moose would shut him down.  They were concerned about their 9 year old son and friends playing out in the field. I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't have a calf in the area.

Mt sister and or her husband, have seen several this spring on their property near Sacheen Lake.

They are steadily moving towards the west and south. They will end up in western Washington in time.

Yes, though I've not personally seen one.  A bull crossed I-5 near the Peace Arch border crossing back when I was in college (late 80's)...it was in the paper.  I knew a woman near Nugents Corner (Mt. Baker hwy) who had a cow and calf wintering in and around her place.  The North Cascades region also holds grizzlies and wolves, and has for many years.  Just not large numbers.  I attended several symposiums on these topics back then but for the life of me I can't remember any of the presenters.

West klickitat had a cow moose a few years back.  Most of the locals kept it hush, hush including the wildlife people who watched it for about a week in the refuge.

Yes, the one by the Peace Arch was in the local paper years ago.  I am sure they wander into Whatcom county on occasion, and there are spot in eastern Whatcom county where they could live and never be seen, so I would not be surprised in the least.

Granted this is not the west side but a friend of my dads back in the early 90's was deer hunting up towards Hart's Pass and in 3 days he had a cow and calf moose and a grizz walk through the saddle he was sitting in.

A guy at works swears that he saw one this weekend up at Crystal Mountain.  I thought that he had seen an elk until he described it and knowing this guy, he ain't making it up.
