Since you live in an apartment did you check to see if they limit the size of dog you are allowed to have?

Boykins are awesome too. Nice small size, flushing dogs and durable enough for duck hunting in most conditions. I know of a breeder with a top GrandHRC dog. Roomed with him at a dog training seminar for a week. Great dog in the house and in the field. Truely an all around hunting dog. They just became recognized by the AKC. I think it is 100 years of documented pedigrees in breeding or something like that. The dog here in the picture is probably one of the top 10 in the country. He sired a litter this summer. Not sure if anymore around.

Originally, they were bred with American Spaniels and Chesapeake Bay Retrievers and a few other breeds if I remember correctly...could be wrong....ohh, here we go, internet-

Might read up on the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon....but pups are hard to come by.   :(
:yeah: Griffons are great dogs, great family dogs, perfect upland dogs and they love the water also!

Breeding our springer in the spring but other that that we had to travel to northern Idaho to get ours.  I have also heard good things about the Boykins.

Great springer pups, well behaved and mild mannered.  Mine is from the 2008 litter.

This pic was taken in 2008.  He is just under six months old at the time that this was taken during my annual trip to N. Dakota.

Just got a new pup from OakHaven Kennels in Dallas, Oregon and I think He has a couple left.  They are 8 weeks old and their Dad is Downtown Doadie Brown Who has 35 National plates.  They had feathers in their mouths at 4 weeks and at 7  1/2 weeks mine is making 40  foot retrievals already.

What does "National Plates" mean? never heard that term used.
