There is no way I would ever try it! I would kill myself!

He is a skinner at a Deer Processor.  I worked with a guy that was just as fast and just as messy when I was down in GA going to College.  I worked at a Deer Processor for 3 seasons because I could get all the free extra capea that I wanted and a little extra cash.  You got $6 to skin and gut a deer, $12.50 to quarter, and $15 to cape.

My fastet time was 4 min.

Definitely fast.
Conditions:
Warm, freshly little killed deer. The hide can almost be pulled off a 'hot' deer.
Clean, flat, level floor. No debris or brush/trees or 45 degree slope.
All tools right at hand.
Hoist ready to go.
Out of the weather. No wind, rain, sleet, snow and I'm sure it's above freezing in that shop.

Let's see him try that with any of my last few bucks right where they fell!

Yeah, He is quick. He's probably skinned more deer than most any of us have ever seen.

But one does need to remember that skinning a scrawny little white tail doe of some 110 pounds is not the same as a good Mule or Blacktail buck. Good with a knife.. But rippin the skin off with one had on a western buck is a bit more difficult.

That was good and a good lesson too. That hide practically fell off that little doe.

When I was 16, I bet a buddy I could gut out his buck in less than a minute. He timed me and I did it in 47 seconds. By that time in my life, I had already had a lot of experience with blacktails.

I've got a buddy that is a world class 'Speed Gutter'.  He'll save the heart and liver too!  Truly amaizing. But, he uh... may have skirted the edge of the law a time or too and felt a bit, 'rushed' to get the hell out'a dodge so he has a little practice at being fast with a knife.  :chuckle:

That's quick

Ribka and I timed our selves on antelope, we skinned, de-boned, and bagged an antelope in 18 minutes. 10 antelope in 2 days and we learned how to get it done as quick as possible.

That deer is fresh and hot, too. Have him try and skin it that fast after it's hung in the cold overnight, and it'll take many times as long.

Which is one reason I always skin my deer as soon as I possibly can.
