6 days. 6 birds and one coyote. Plenty of misses. Just took a shower. No ticks, yet. Birds are finally coming in. Sleet sun sleet sun sleet sun. Blue skys now. New blood in camp. Few more birds to get. Fairgrounds lonely.

Good to hear you guys are into birds. Tagged out so I'm going walleye fishing tomorrow with a friend. If we go through Colville I'll stop to say hi.

Glad to hear you guys are doing so well. Talked to Al on Saturday and he was still looking for a kill. We swung into the fairgrounds but you guys were out. Good luck with the rest of the hunt(s).

3 more birds today. Tired, been here since thurs. Spent half the day shooting sage rats. I have a sunburn. I hate birds that won't come in. It's heating up pretty good now. Nobody else hunting. What's wrong with me? Wife says come home. Gonna have to wait another year, can't do it. Must call in morning. Must roost birds. Can't stop. Need help. THA. Need to find a meeting.

I'm glad you guys had some good success Sneaky ... also Birdguy, KimberRich, Nitro, etc. Now if success is just bagging birds, then I shouldn't have missed when I got those thunder chickens in from long distance. I did fire up a lot of birds in my 2 days of hunting (out of 4-1/2 planned, but had some issues at home that needed attention) and managed to get some great pictures. The best part of the trip was seeing old friends and making a few new ones. I definitely needed some time in the turkey woods this year that I didn't think I would actually get ... and the pick me up from the Sneaky gang, BG, KR, Yelp, Nitro, the Benny's gang, etc was greatly needed. I could make all sorts of excuses about losing two pieces of private alnd to the eagles and hawks taking their turns feeding on the dead deer carcasses, the weather, the ATV'ers, guys target practicing, my heart not really being in it this year, etc ... but I'm not going to ... it was a success to me no matter what !!! I really appreciated all the offers to join all of you on several hunts, Steve's birthday outing, etc and hope you all understand I just needed some time alone in God's great church. With 3 turkeys still in the frig from last year, it wasn't about the harvest ... never really has been.
And I already have my fall tags ...
Thanks again guys for your thoughtfulness and friendship ... it was needed !

TD glad we got to stop and see you, it was nice to see you in the field. You are absolutely right...it has never been about the harvest. I am glad you had a fun SAFE trip. There will be many more hunts and more time in the woods this year was all about getting out!

Got to camp on last thursday and decided we wanted to get out and pattern our guns.
Now it was time to go scout our areas. So we drove some backroads and got out and walked. Do you ever feel like just stepped into a bad neighborhood? Well we did, then it happened. First Steve then me. The hooligans attacked, we barely escaped. One even threw a rock at Steve's head.
A little later we bumped into this guy. He was bragging how many birds he killed this year and told us this was his area and to stay out of it. What a d!*k.
Fred really didn't like him so he went back later and had words with him. Fred's old-man strength was just too much for the guy.
Obviously the weather was an issue for everyone this year. We tried to take advantage of it and show our green side.
The boys knocked down a couple of birds. On the walk out Steve went into the woods to take a leak, then it happened. The Horror!
No more Mr. Niceguys. It was time for revenge! We hit them hard and we hit them fast. They never saw us coming.
