My friend found these fresh wolf tracks, it had snowed in the morning, 4 adult wolves traveling together in high remote country, Northport side (eastside) of GMU 105.

With the distance they have seen that these animals and packs can travel they will never be able to tell how many breeding packs are here.  Just depends on what day they count them.  Hunting as we know it is gone!

This is an older article but, shows we're being watched. The conservation group read posts here then decided to go looking for the Teannaway Pack. I remember posting my story here a long time ago about having an encounter on lake Cle Elum. Nobody thought it was possible. Here we are today years later.

GMU 105 (northport side) My trapper friend had 3, maybe 4 wolves responding to a howler.

Talked to a buddy this morning, said he found a mule deer wolf kill on his property on the Pend Oreille river.  He rode his ranger up the hill and messed around a couple hours, came back by and there was fresh wolf tracks in his ranger tracks. :bash:  he's gonna send me some pics, I'll post 'em up when I get them.

Martorello has contacted me and wants to include our database of wolf sightings in the WDFW Online WOLF SIGHTINGS MAP. I need everyone to try and identify which Township, Range, and Section number of their sighting. Please log into the Wolf Reports and post that info.

This is important, Martorello said the data base will give biologists ideas where to search for wolves. If we want to get all these wolves documented we need to provide the information they need.

If everyone will post the gps coordinates or a Township/Range/Section of their sightings in this topic or pm the info to me, I will give that info to the state. I have to go thru this whole log of sightings and try to get info so they can put a pin on their online map.

Use this map tool to pinpoint coordinates: http://itouchmap.com/latlong.html
(use map or satellite view, move the red pin to where you had the sighting, right click on the pin and it gives the coordinates)

Copy and paste the coordinates here with your sighting info.

This is truly important so that we can get these wolves documented.

Haha,   I wish the state felt that way.    The right to defend ourselves or property from other people is why archers can carry.  To much crime in the mountains these days.  Drugs, vehicle theft and vandalism..

Gosh, I forgot to add a "sighting" this fall... It was late October, south of Spokane, probably officially in the Palouse; no houses for miles, I found a canine skull; correct size to be a wolf and highly unlikely it was a dog that far away from roads, houses, etc... It was on private property... I perform research plots for the forest service on all lands... public and private but cannot release the exact location because of the privacy agreement we sign.  :dunno: It was probably a year old; no other bones or evidence was around. There was one spot it could have been visible from a private road and perhaps shot and left... the teeth had medium wear.
I am not opposed to golf, for I suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering deer.

Not sure if it has been updated on here but one of the recent wolf sightings around Nespelem, WA on the Colville Reservation was a DNA'd and is a hybrid. Just thought I'd let people know this is what I heard, I work for the Tribes Fish & Wildlife and can confirm it with one of our biologists but that's what I was told from a reliable source.

Thursday April 5 top of clockum where the three way intersection splits from brushy, bruton and the reserve. Fresh running elk tracks with at least 4-5 wolve tracks following. Old timer pocket knife ( 4inches in length) fits inside the pads of three them.
