Montana Out of State tags left
« on: August 17, 2011, 03:16:23 PM »
I got this from an outfitter I have gone with in the past.  Time is of the essence here but maybe an overnighted application would get in.

From: Worsech, Hank [mailto:hworsech@mt.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, August 16, 2011 12:50 PM
To: MOGA
Subject: Reissue Nonresident Big game and Elk Combo licenses
Importance: High

We just got the web site up for reissue licenses that are returned for refund.  I tried the last week to get it online, but ran into a few issues, so I had to go the old fashion way.   Down load the application and send it in and we will issue licenses as available.  Go the FWP web site  http://fwp.mt.gov/   then   “for Hunters”  Then under “New: Nonresident Big game and Elk Combination licenses”  Then download the app and send it in.

Sorry I did not even get a chance to look the Board of Outfitters rules over,  been really busier  implementing  all the new laws and preparing for the Commission meeting.

If you or members have questions, contact Marsha @ 444-1666 or I @ 444-2663.

Think they're selling the tags I didn't buy because of their price increase.  I have a cabin in MT next to the Cabinet Mtn Wilderness, and I can't afford annual tags........

Agreed.  I bought one this year, but don't know about next year.

I refused to put in because the increase for a big game increase was way to much.  You are guaranteed a deer if you dont hold out for a monster, but the elk hunting is getting pretty sparse and the wolves are taking their toll. :twocents:

How do you return the elk portion of the combo tag? I'd like to do that too.

I think it was a little under 600 for me. I got my big game on the leftover which cost the convience fee extra and then they kept a 25 fee for the returning of the elk portion. I think the law that offered us that option was that you did not draw one of the special elk tags, like the Breaks any bull that I put in for.

Sounds good to me: your paying my property taxes of $4000 per year would be considered a gift and not a guiding fee.  It's waterfront, after all.

But is there any elk on the property?
