Know where any fruit trees are? That would be where I look.

I would not give up on them. I have shot them while deer hunting on occasion. They just show up when you are not looking for them sometimes. Just a matter of being at the right place at the right time. Everytime that you go to the woods, you stand a chance of running in to one. Best of luck to you.

I don't know where any fruit trees are as i hunt public land...I have tagged out for deer in early season archery and
i'm not elk hunting so happening one incidentally is unlikely I guess what I am really asking where should I be looking this time of year/ what food would they be eating now...this is my first year bear hunting and I really wanted to get one but I am out of places to look.

I am still getting them on my cams. I was right next to one tearing up stumps 2 days ago. I am attaching a pic of a sow and cubs from last Sunday. I have been running into them in woods where it is heavily treed with old stumps that they can tear into. Also where there are Salal SP? berries.

We saw a little one today. There were still a lot of blackberries where we were. You shouldn't give up!
