Is there any plans for an east side course? Maybe after the trapping season is over. I'd love to trap. Im a seasonal worker so most my winter is spent in the woods to save me from bord'em.

George Brady does classes on the east side (Pateros) regularly. He doesn't usually announce them though. He takes names and when he gets a few he calls them and has a class. He may well do a class in the spring or even late winter but you will have to give him a call. For sure there will be a class at our Rendezvous in July. It is in Cashmere.

There are some other instructors on the east side and George schedules for them also so he can line you up with someone local for you but again you have to call him.

The study manual is sometimes difficult to find. Here is a link.

Remember to make an appointment at a regional office to take the test.

Karen Parker, fatslinger on here can maybe send you one too (360)264-5316. She lives pretty close to you. Might be able to just pick it up.
There is a lot more to the manual we use in class then the on-line version from WDFW. I recommend it.

What is the fubearers license? Is that just for selling furs? Do you have to get that when you get your trapping license.

I don't think there is such a license. Perhaps you are thinking of a fur dealer license. That is a commercial license that allows you to buy or receive fur for resale. Fur buyers are the ones who get that. Only other license related to fur is a Trapping License. If you want to hunt bobcats, raccoons and coyotes you can get a Small Game License and those are dual classification animals, furbearer/small game. No furbearer license though.

Please read the first post on this thread, Page 1. It has been modified with what I think will answer your question.

I'm in the okanogan county and am interested in taking the class. Do they put any classes on over in this area or do I have to travel to the west side?
