Guys with lots of money just don't mind these increases unlike the rest of us, if I was rich I probably wouldn't give a chit either.

:chuckle: So you are telling me you really would mind paying a extra 200 for a once in the lifetime hunt? Anyone should be able to save enough to cover the extra 200.00 for a special tag like that.

Plus that is only if you get drawn, not like you have to spend it until you get drawn.

When I pass, do not let my wife sell the guns for what I told her they cost.

I would love to get drawn and spend a lot more than that for the tag, I'm just saying, Why the increase?? Is it because they can't manage their money and it's just easier to pass the increases on to us.

This year I bet a lot of people won't even know about the increase until they get drawn and have to pay for it.
look at all the posts about multiseason tags :chuckle:

Come on guys... I think everyone should boycott and not buy any OIL apps this year..... :-)  WOW I'd be awfully busy with a goat, sheep and moose tag!

The extra $200 is well worth it, heck those tags are worth alot more than that!

I think it is worth it to, but you know me like everyone would like to keep as much of our own money in our pocket and not to the game department that doesn't use the money for what they should.  But yeah my wife, son and I will be in a lot of special permits

Believe it or not I also think they are worth more than that, heck if they were 3,ooo dollars I would pay for it. I just wonder where it ends? As a resident I don't think these tags need to get out of reach for the regular hunter. It's about greed, the money they make off these few OIL tags doesn't add up to much in the whole sceme of things. Why do they increase these tags? I think they do it because they know no matter what we will pay. So, yes like I said, the hunt is well worth the increase but is the increase to help the managment of the animals or is it just plain greed.  Either way no matter how much they increase the tag fees for OIL tags, I will pay if I ever draw, doesn't mean it's right.   Just thinking about those who it will impact more, I don't believe any resident should be left out on these very special hunts just because they can't afford the tag.  The cost need to be at a level where all have an oppurtunity, someday it will be just for the rich.

Oh come on, $3000? Why would anyone pay that when you can hunt moose in Idaho for $2000 as a non-resident?

I was just throwing a number out there, and beside if we ever get that high I don't think Idaho would still be at 2000. And yes, I would pay 300o to hunt big horn sheep in the asotin, maby not moose but sheep yup.

I am putting in for them.  I am hoping I get drawn.  If you do not put in that increases the odds for the people who do.  Once in a life time heck yes... It is still dirt cheap from other states.

Why?  because they can!    They could charge $1k  for these OIL tags and I garrentee there  will still be millions of people putting in for it.  We manage the money not the wildlife.
Amaizing how antlers can change a person!!

I hate to see higher fees, but when managers are faced with tough decisions they are going to close the funding gap rather than delete jobs and services. I think I paid about $1800 for my Idaho moose, it's over $2000 now.

I didn't see anyone mention that is also more for the application it went from about 5 dollars to I believe 14 or 15 dollars for each app. I for one will still buy them because of the points I have, if you dont buy them you loose them. Also there are other increases that floored me and that new rule about If you get drawn for a quality hunt you have to report both your tag and hunt.
