looking for a new bow any recommendations

im looking for a new bow have 06 allegience. looking for something more smoother. the allegience is a good bow but im looking for something that has a easier draw cycle. i have about 600 or 700 to spend.  thanks

Mathews z7extreme is great, I cannot fault it in any way.  Smooth, stable, forgiving, quiet, accurate, small, well built, great cust. service, fast enuff.  Go shoot many and you will figure it out.  I switched from bowtech.  Wasnt happy with my bowtech at all. Buy bare bow and transfer parts of old bow to save money.

mathew's Helim is an awsome bow, got one a couple months ago, shooting better than I ever have with it.  Very smooth and forgiving.

there is a mathews dealer in chehalis lucky shot archery. may take a trip up there and shoot one of the mathews. the owner ted is a real nice guy. had them tune my bowtech one time they did a awesome job.

You could probably find a good deal on a used alphmax 35.  Im not a bowtech fan but i do think that allegiance is the best bow they've made.

"G5 Primal" by Quest.  Excellent bow.  They are around $730, however; Dicks has had them on their web site for a few weeks now and last year they went on sale with an additional 20% clearance.  What a steal for $476.  If you are not in a big rush to get one watch their web site.

Look on archerytalk.com. I have a friend that is on that site all the time and has bought many bows with great luck. He has researched bows and found them for my dad and I just recently. I got the hoyt maxxis with rest and sights only one year old for 450 shipped to my door in perfect condition. Love the bow. Look up brianb231 and send him a pm, he is very helpful.

If going with a Mathews I would go with the z7 Extreme, hands down... I have shot the new helim and z7 extreme side by side. There is no question that the z7 extreme is the smoother bow. However, I will say the weight difference is substancial. So if you are going on a hunt where weight is at a premium, this maybe something to be considered. Im sure the accuracy of the helim is still of Mathews quality, but dealing with a little more recoil might be better for more advanced archers. IMO, I would rather have the smoothest shooting, most accurate bow, within reason. The felt recoil of the helim was a deal stopper for me. The Z7 Extreme is a beast!

Try a Hoyt. both the crx and rampage are very nice affordable bows. just remember to shoot as many as you can. mathews has great bows as well, just shot the helim the other day, nice bow but gotta say the z7 felt ALOT better IMO.
But if you want to get serious...Get Hoyt!

  I cant tell anyone what to shoot everyone's different. Go around shoot every bow in your price range, take notes when doing it cause you will forget what is what and then figure out which is the best for you

I have a g5 quest and am shooting 4-5" groups at 60 yards. I Robin hooded an arrow my first day of shooting it, before that I have not shot a bow in 15 years.

As long as they check out good I would be buying used and save some $$$. There are plenty of pics of dead critters from 3-4 years ago and bows from that era that are plenty capable of doing the trick. I'm not sure why anyone would spend money on a new bow right now when there are so many quality used ones out there, but to each their own.
