I tried switching to musket caps on my t/c hawkin, they for some reason would not fire and the first try? always on the second but never the first. any ideas? JB |

Check for clearance between the hammer and the nipple when fired. There shouldn’t be any or very little. If there is you may need a longer nipple. I’ve also heard that some nipples work better if they are sharpened to a bit of an edge. |

JDB, whos nipple are you using? When I changed mine over ,also a TC hawken, I was having the same problem. What I found was only the TC musket nipples would work, never had good luck with the no name stuff. Sage |
