Looking for a pup. {Growing up now}
ghosthunter:
Well as you know in my other post I lost my wonderful lab Tess to old age (131/2) this past weekend. I have thought it over and with a nod from the wife have decided I have one more pup to train left in me.
So the search is on for a pup. I live in Mount Vernon so I have this area covered. I perfer to get a dog from outside my area just to be different.
So here's my requirements.
Yellow Lab
Female 7 weeks old
English line
As light in color as I can get . The whiter the better.
Must come with AKC cert. Limited.
Prefer parents I can look at and that at least one hunts.
Want to be able to pick my own pup out of females available.
Want to be able to name dog myself including registered name.
Just for giggles lets say under $800.00 though not firm.
I am not intrested in breeding or having puppies.
I am not interested in jumping through hoops of what and where the dog will be when I am not home. I am a responsible dog owner who takes excellent care of my dog. And I have a 13 year vet reference to back it up.
I will mainly be hunting waterfowl some pheasant.
Hunt tests and 5 or 10 series events once in a while to stay tuned up.
So put the word out. Any directions you can push me towards a breeder would be great.
I am in no hurry as I am redoing my kennel and building a new dog condo.
I have no time frame.
If you know some one feel free to pass along my email ghost.hunter.1@hotmail.com
Thanks

The whiter the better................................... I've got an all white english setter male,FC sired by a huntin dawg, and his mother is a FT winner and a hunter meets a bunch of the criteria! :chuckle:
Seriously good luck in the search!

Yes they look very good but yikes they are pricey. However if you take the cost of a good pup and divide it out by 13 years , the monthly cost for the enjoyment you get isnt bad. But for now I am looking in the $800. range. Although my wife and I have not ruled it out.
Last night in Mount Vernon I saw a young lady with two pure white big male labs. They were bookends on a baby stroller. I pulled over ran across the street to talk to her, I think she was going for the pepper spray before she realizedd I was a obsessed lab guy. Those dogs came out of a farm in Tacoma called Canyon Meadows. They two have a $1500.00 price tag.
So the search is still on and I really apreciate anyones help. Willing to go to Idaho or Oregon. I am not sure that I am willing to buy one cross country sight unseen and ship it to me. Some guys do it but I am more hands on.
