Last week I made it up to the alpine to scout for some black tail bucks.  I was able to find 4 bucks and a nice billy mountain goat.  None of the bucks were huge but they all looked like they were getting ready to fork at least one more time.  I've seen a number of lowland bucks that seem to be almost fully developed but I'm hoping since these are alpine bucks maybe they are a bit slow to develop?  What do you guys think, any chance any of these bucks may still grow into a nice 4 point or are these doomed to be a 3 point at best?

Here is the video of the deer:

The lone billy:

I also spotted this osprey at about 4300 feet elevation on the way down.  I don't see a ton of osprey's in the alpine and thought he was pretty neat.

I also created a time lapse of the sun setting over Mt. Baker.

I also got up in the middle of the night to try my luck at a starscape time lapse.
Mount Baker starscape timelapse - 7/12/12 (Mt. Baker Wilderness)

I had to do a lot of post editing work on the starscape time lapse to get it to look any good as I wasn't happy with the night time pictures from my camera.  Does anyone have any advice on the best settings to get those night time pictures that really show all the stars/Milky Way?  I am shooting a Canon 30D with a 50mm lens.  I shot with a 10 second exposure at F1.8 with 800 ISO.  Any advice is appreciated!

They're pretty close to all they will be. Had a hunch where you were then the angle of the mountain gave it away. :chuckle:

Awesome videos, thanks for sharing!

I just got my truck fixed and I am hoping to find myself up around Baker soon. I've been itching to get out there.

After your channel gets so many hits (for me it was 75k but it may be less than that now) YouTube sends you an email asking if you want to partner with them for advertising.

Very cool, I only have like 4 videos so that probably won't happen for me.

What program did you use to put the time lapse together? I use vegas video. Did you have the camera on auto exposure on the sunset video?

I use an app on my Mac called "Time Lapse". I accidentally left the camera on aperture priority for the sunset time lapse thus the underwhelming effect overall. Next time it will look better.
