PSE OMEN Demo North or Tacoma???
« on: July 10, 2012, 07:26:33 PM »
:hello: Anyone know of a bow shop North of Tacoma that has a PSE Omen in stock to check out/ demo?  :dunno: Bowtech Destroyer would be nice to take a look at too. Anywhere from Tacoma to Blaine on the Wet side would be great.

I shot some of the new Hoyts last year at The Nock Point, but want to check out an Omen at least before I commit.
May that for which I prepare never come to pass.

if you ever head south give cory at triple xxx archery a shout he has pse and bowtech and had both of those bows last week when i was there. he is in oregon right across the river from longview. kind of a haul but a good shop and no sales tax will save you some dough

Try Riverside archery in Mt. Vernon . Gary is pretty good to deal with. I shoot an X-Force Dream Season. I will be at the Granite Falls range thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 if you want to see how they shoot.

I shot a Vector Turbo tonight at The Nock Point.  Sweet sweet bow.

The only problem was that I asked if they had an Omen, thinking there was no way.  Well, some one had custom ordered one and then stiffed Bill and the boys on the bow, so I got to shoot it too.   :IBCOOL:  It was set for 80#'s but with 85% let off - once you got to the let off it was great and it shot smooth and was just smokin fast.  I haven't shot in about 6 months, so I have to admit I only pulled it back five or six times before that was it, couldn't get past the wall.  Mike cranked er down to 75 and I got a few more out of her to get a good feel for it.

Now decisions decisions.  Super smooth bow that is shooting pretty darn fast, or a smokin fast bow that will be at least a bit punishing to draw for the short term, but also shoots very well???

This particular Omen is in all black  - so it may have to get a touch of rattle can to make it a huntin rig

I hate these tough choices :bash: :bash: :bash:

Well, after sleeping on it, I decided to stick with Hoyt and just ordered the Vector Turbo in 80# with Max 1 camo.  :IBCOOL:  I have been using my 1999 Hoyt Enticer twin cam/ split limb since new.  I have not had any issues with it, and so I am very comfortable staying with that livery.

That Omen shot well, it just took a good amount of uumf to get er drawn.  My concern would be too much shoulder strain early in the season and during prolonged sessions.  I like shooting a couple of dozen arrows during a session and I think that omen would be a bit much for that.  May also be an issue after hiking/ hunting all day and then trying to draw when your beat.  If any one is interested, go check it out.  The boys at Nock Point may cut you a sweet deal on it.  This would be a hell of a bow for an African trip for sure.

For accessories I have a Trophy Taker Xtreme FC fall away rest and a Top Pin 10 sight already on the old bow that will migrate over.  Probably use the Bohining Lynx 6 arrow quiver and  a super stix 9" stabilizer  as well.
Add some new arrows with 4 fletch quick spins ( or the like) and Terminal T's or Slick tricks and i should be set for a good while.

Probably be adding my old bow and a bunch of accessories to the classifieds before too long. I have all the original attachments in good working order and also several sights ( Trophy Ridge Matrix - one new one used), multiple types of quality broadheads, and the like.

May that for which I prepare never come to pass.
