Custom Howe Mountain Survival knife.
« on: August 24, 2012, 01:51:34 PM »
Dale smoked one out for me here! I had a profile in my head of what I wanted for a survival/ camp knife but staying out of the chopper class. Keeping it on the lighter side but not too small. I sent the sketch bellow to Dale, mentioned the words "Swedge" and "Kydex" and Dale ran with it.

I couldn't wait to get to the post box today, due to the fact this knife was a complete original between Dale and I. As soon as I slid the knife from the Kydex, I knew it was a home run! It is even more than what I expected and a great piece. The feel is excellent, the weight is perfect, the Swedge is out of this world. A great fit on the Kydex, it retains the knife well and I can skin the knife from the sheath quickly and smoothly.

Thanks Dale.....

The sketch...

154 CMP SS, Orange G10 Jigged.

6 3/8" from tip to scale and 11" overall.

Nice knife.

To me it makes allot of sense to tryout how your knives, handguns, rifles, hunting gear, etc... with what you will be wearing when you use them.

Sweet knife

It was a great price, I've have paid much more for custom knives that were smaller out of the same materials, Dale just got his web site started. I liked the knife so much I ordered two more but in Black G10 instead of the orange, I'll give one of those to my brother. He also did a boot knife for me, my boot knife is also pictured on his web site. Dale is a pleasure to work with and the good thing is, he is not set in his designs or profiles. He will make you anything you like, send him a sketch and he will work with you to make a knife completely to your liking and guarantee it.

Give it a little while and I guarantee the prices will increase, I have 6 or so on order so I can get them before the increase. I'm looking forward to a Damascus knife he's doing for me with Mule deer scales.
