Pasayten Trip on Horses.
« on: September 16, 2012, 03:41:50 PM »
Rode in to the Pasayten in July with 5 of my sisters, my daughter, 2 nieces and a friend.  Used Cascade Wilderness Outfitters to pack our gear in and had another grand trip.  It's hard to decide what photos to show when there were soooo many good ones.  We rode to the border, Upper and Lower Cathedral, up Amphtheater Mnt.  and everywhere between.  The only place we didn't do was Tungston Mine (which was on our list) due to a nasty thunder storm one day.  Next time!  Here are a few pictures, enjoy.

My daughter and I on Amphtheater mnt. with the view of the Cascades in the background.  The back of Mnt Baker may even be in there somewhere.

Here we are heading up the Andrew's Creek trail all but the photographer.

Me on my horse Matti, his first trip up there.  One of my favorite shots of me and my horse

The six of us who climbed Amphatheater to find goats just above Cathedral Pass.

Another cool picture of the group in the meadows.

Me digging ditches to divert the water around the tent from one of the thunderstorms we encountered.

Zabian our personal drink, coat, and lunch packer on the way down in another thunder storm.

The only goat we saw, I think it was a nanny.  I never thought to look in all the excitement of trying to get the girls back with the only 3 cameras left with batteries and SD cards that were not full.  The goat was not camera shy.

Those are good times. I think of all the pack trips My brother and I did over the years. I retired and so did my brother,my brother is my naughbor. We still do a lot of hunting together, but I really miss those trips in the mountains. My favorit places was Flora Lake and Lake Auguasta in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.  Their is nothing like riding a great horse. :)

Looks awesome.  That's one place I have yet to explore.  I would like to spend some time up there and over in the Selkirk area.  What was the elevation?
