Looking for a blacktail cape
« on: November 12, 2012, 11:55:55 PM »
Hey, Ive got a guy who wants to have his older blacktail rack mounted and now Im in search of a blacktail buck cape. Anyone have their hands on one, or know of someone? Its not a very big rack so doesnt need to be a very large cape. Thanks

With late buck coming up this week, I'm sure a cape or two could be found..

Hit up some of the taxidermists on this site

Ok yeah that would be great! Well I think buying capes usually go for $25-50. Just depends on the shape of it and size. Is it already turned, split and salted?

Not sure, but don't think you'll get a split, turned, salted cape for $50.  Raw, maybe.....

Hey guys, still looking for a little blacktail cape. It doesnt have to have come off of a bigger deer, Ive just got a guy who wants an old set of velvet antlers shoulder mounted. Anyone have any leads?

With velvet antlers, you might want to try to get an early archery deer that still has the reddish brown in its coat, otherwise might look kind of funny to the discriminating eye.   :twocents:
