Got 28 sets out and functional this weekend. Very strange weather in my part of AK. In the 40s and heavy rain last couple days. Feels like spring trapping. Suppose to be back to single digets next weekend! As soon as I start pulling stuff in again I'll post pic.
If you shoot the first one you will never get that true trophy.

Never posted these from when I was in WA. Went out with my dad several times and we killed a ton of yotes!

Did you guys get more yotes after I saw you that morning? I think you had already got a few by the time I saw you.

Loving the trapline pics.  Do you snowshoe, ski, snowmobile, all of the above when you're running your line?

Are coyote hides worth anything in AK? Is their hair lighter or thicker making them more valuable?
In archery we have something like the way of the superior man. When the archer misses the center of the target, he turns round and seeks for the cause of his failure in himself.

Do your AK coyotes have lice in them?

Everything in AK is worth more, lol. They are much larger on the average with lighter colored thick hair. On the fur market or buyers reports you see them called "brush wolves". I. Get about $60 a yote about double to triple WA pups price. With that said I HATE getting them because they are so nasty to flesh.

Mange is a problem in some areas but I've yet to deal with it on yotes. Had a nasty wolf with it last year. I always trash bag and Raid my fur for a few hours before I skin.

Never really noticed them as a problem up here. Think it's to cold, no ticks either.

Been dealing with really warm temps this month. Normally don't have a frost thaw cycle daily in January. Had two fox actually dig sets out with my traps not firing because they froze in. Picked this nice dark red up in a blind trail snare.

Tracks going right into a set that was froze in.
