Bear over gut pile/carcass

So I just learned this year that you could hunt bear over a gut pile. I have a deer carcass that I cut the meat off, and such. I am going to throw it out in a clear-cut, and hope that this cougar comes in, or maybe a yote. But........where I am going to throw it out holds a lot of bears so it may draw a bear out before something else. So I am wondering. Since I am moving the carcass, can I still hunt over it for bear

I have no idea on the laws. I would think a gutpile/carcass in the field where you shot the animal is one thing. If you take it home then take it out and place it some place with the intent of shooting a animal off it. Then it would be looked at as baiting.

I would consider this baiting for bear, since you knowingly are placing something in an area you are fully aware has bear in it.... Not a good idea...  even posting that you would sit over the bait for a bear...  Baiting...

Ya, thats what I figured. I just learned that you could shoot a bear over a gut pile this year.

I wasn't planning on hunting bear with it, but then I realized......a bear may find this before the kitty.

this would be considered baiting if you placed it there and hunted over it. Now if you were out hunting and walked up on a dead deer/elk u can legally hunt over it and the likes of also walking up on a gutpile from someone. Now if you were to move these its no legal

no, this question has been beat to death lately. if you see a bear, and kill it, and its over a gut pile then your good. if YOU leave a gut pile, then return and hunt over it, its baiting, and thats illegal.

I believe you are incorrect. As long as the gut pile has not been moved it isn't considered baiting. If the pile has been strategically moved, it then becomes intended bait.

They (WDFW) should really do a better job defining the grey areas within the regs book. It's my impression that the regs state any activity that is considered illegal. If its unstated, I'll assume it's fair game.
