So I am toying with the idea of tanning, if anyone is tossing out any hides locally give me a holler.

You going to brain tan?
If we were supposed to be vegetarian God would have made broccoli more fun to shoot!
"HOYT" why would you even consider shooting something else?

I am not completely sure yet, I am working on fleshing still which is much harder than they make it look online  :chuckle:

I just homebrewed a draw knife and it seemed to simplify the process over using a regular knife. But my log situation isn't quite up to par yet.

I always wondered if you could flesh out the hide and then salt it and call it good?  I've seen hides that were just hung out in the sun for a few days and the skin on the inside was leathery but pliable and seemed to hold well with no hair slippage.  Is this just a short term thing?  I'd assume you couldn't get it wet but, that wouldn't be an issue anyway where I'd keep it.

Well I am still working on it, and I am not completely sure what I will do with it I just don't like wasting as much as I do of the animal and want to put more of it to use. Kinda getting a bit convicted that I throw too much out.
