Arrow and broadhead weight

Its been a couple years since I've done any archery. I working on getting back into it for a white tail hunt next Oct in PA at my families cabin. I have hunted WA with no luck but have learn a lot and met many goof people to help me. Anyway I'm trying to remember what I learn years ago about arrows and broadhead weights. Can I get some help relearning this info? I need to purchase some new arrows and broadheads not only for hunting WA but also for my PA trip next year.

wa regs say a minimum of 6 grains per pound of draw weight. ie 70lbs 420 grains.

With different broadhead weights how do you determine which would work better with the 420 grain shaft?

my draw length is 29" and weight is 70lbs

Total arrow weight needs to be 420gr @ 70lbs. Not just the shaft, its including the broadhead.

so at a 75 lb draw weight i need a 450 grain broadhead?

Yes, 450 grain total arrow weight. Not broadhead

ok i was thinking what the... my arrows have no weight stamped on them, how do i find out?

You have to weigh them on a grain scale.

Also the side of ur shafts will have numbers and a gpi (grain per inch). Meaning for every inch that arrow shaft it weighs that much. Ex 8.6gpi.. so you can roughly figure out if you have a heavy arrow shaft to meet the requirements.

mine are 31" and all it says is 50-75#... nothing else , oh well thats what i get for being broke that week and buying at wally world  oh well i planned them being for practice anyways.

I am pretty certain you are severely underspined  with 50/75's at 31" and 75lbs. I'd be willing to bet your actually pretty close to flirting with disaster. You arrows must weigh at least 375 to be safe, any less and its almost like dry firing your bow. Ever see those pics of guys with arrows stuck through their hand? Don't be that guy.
