Lake Chelan
« on: September 03, 2008, 07:06:35 PM »
Went up Lake Chelan for 5 days.  Saw lots of deer and bear.  Didn't shoot a bear though.  All in all, it was a good time with the family.  All I can say is that bakery at Stehekin is good.  I put on a lot of weight eating at the bakery and ranch restaurant.

Here are a few pictures.  I have tons but these two are all I have energy to fix.

Outstanding!  Did you take your boat  up or ride up on the Lady of the Lake.

Took my boat.  It isn't done completely but it's functional now.  Contemplating a silver or tuna trip...

Didn't tag a deer but at least saw some this year.  It's really amazing bear hunting and it wouldn't take more than 3 days to get a bear for a decidated hunter.

Love bopth the photos, but the bear one "speaks" to me.  No it is not saying "Don't shoot, don't shoot!" :chuckle:

Canon 40D.  More importantly, I try and use good glass.  The first photo was taken with a 10-22 EFS lens.  It's not an "L" lens but the quality is considered as such.  The bear photo was taken with a 70-200 f2.8 L IS lens.  The camera doesn't matter.  A cheap Rebel could take just as good of photos.  I'm a big believer in glass, not the light capturing devise.

Love the 1st one Shawn.
Did you crop tight on the bear? something about the blacks levels or High ISO? Great composition tho.

And if you do that Tuna trip, you HAVE to call me!, I will take pics for ya of the whole trip.
Always wanted to fish for Tuna. My favorite meat after Elk Rib Eye
