Slow Saturday.
« on: December 09, 2012, 08:15:41 PM »
Myself and 3 buddies from the Army went out to our spot in Oakville Saturday morning. Launched the canoe and made our way to the blind. We get there and someone is setting up... Kinda sucked since we were not perpared for a backup plan but thats how it goes.

We ended up making a blind out on some flields in the same area. Had a few birds come in but non would commit when the fog was in. Mid day we ended up making another blind and setting up on another pond in the field. Ended up having a few groups circling for awhile but still not commiting. Then to Mallards came close enough to pop and ended up with on drake. And after that a group og 5 Ring neckes came screaming in and landed right where we wanted them and got all of them. That was all we got lol.

The best part of the day was when we were in our socond blind a herd of Elk were back at were out first blind was. Seen a 4x4 and a 2x2 with about 8 cows. That was cool to see.

Nice, ringnecks are fun to shoot but I don't like to clean them, there akin is so tough and it's always hard for us to get the skin peeled back, that's the same with all divers though that we killed!

True story! Thats what i use, a fillet knife! Cant just peel the skin off the breast, you have to cut it off.
