my buddy's dad had his barrel for his .338-.378 weatherby made by christenson arms. gun still is a brute but the barrel is fantastic. expect to pay some pesos for it but i'm sure you expect that already.

hoping this isnt thread jacking but..here is my thoughts

..my rifle weighs 7 pounds with scope and is 1000 yard ready

..gunwerks carbon rifle weighs 8 pounds with out a scope an im sure is 1000 yard ready

cant justify spending the extra cash for an extra three pounds  :twocents:

what set up do you have?

the extreme in a 300wsm, an a vxIII 3.5-10 cds

i couldn't think of a better set up..regardless of money (for my needs)

mostly due to the weight..not too heavy..an just heavy enough to be able to hold steady

Proof Research

As far as their accuracy test:  You can't unscrew a barrel and screw it back in and expect the same point of impact, doesn't matter if you beat on it or not.  Just be aware of that and I think even a bent barrel would still group.

Their barrels won't save any weight, but the are strong and the wrapping sucks heat out rather than trapping it in.  A .338 LM with that barrel has a longer life than any other.
They use a a barrel profile that can fire a round without the carbon fiber and then wrap it to get you the stiffness of a heavier barrel.

Gunsmithing buddy that I have just built a .338 norma mag with that barrel, a titanium extreme action, CADEX stock....its an awesome rifle, but way out of my price range.
