I think any hunter who is not a member of the NRA, or Gun Owners of America really ought to consider joining.. Who else is fighting for us? With all this crap going on I think everyone who owns a gun and cares at all should be e-mailing their senators and representatives urging them to oppose any and all gun bans that come out of this.. might not make a difference, but a few thousand progun e-mails might have a real effect. Pretty much all the elected reps have a website, so its like a 5 minute process... What do we have to lose? might be the only chance we have to fight this...

X a million

If anyone is one of these lilly livered cowards that wont stand with the NRA because they can't defend their position or can't take the heat, then you are too stupid to be a friend of mine.

Just the uninformed things I read on here is pretty scary.  And this is a hunting site.  Just imagine how uninformed the general public is?   A large % still think "reasonable gun control" is reasonable...  and isn't just a tactic to divide us.

Stupidity is killing America... along with ignorance.

Amen 300 UMS,

There is really no excuse for any gun owner to not be a member of the NRA. I may not agree with everything they do but they are we gunowners only advocate in DC.  If the Dem's and Obozo have there way we'll be hunting with slingshots in another 4 years.

I don't support any gun bans believe all gun free zones need to be rolled back and removed...but don't have cash to throw at a group that may or may not support the average gun owner on any given day...guess i am not worth being friends with due to being too stupid and lilly livered ...

In the past they said they didn't support private ownership of full-auto.  I cancelled my membership and told them to go pound some sand.

Just got reading an article written by a pro gun Democrat.  It is actually very good and does a great job explaining what the old assault weapons ban was and what a possible new one would look like.  The conclusion is that any reasonable person cannot justify the bans on effectiveness, only on emotions.  It is a long article but very informative, in fact we could only wish that all Democrats were this intelligent.  Here is the link.

Nice.

BTW the NRA is not the "only gun advocate in DC", these guys are there as well...  National Association for Gun Rights at nationalgunrights.org

My neighbor is a 75 year old single guy who has never owned a gun in his life but has always been a member of the NRA and keeps one of their window stickers in his car window.  Says he totally supports the 2nd Amendment but has just never desired to own a gun.
