Cabelas euro 10x42 exchange?

I have a pair of the cabelas euro 10x42 that I received as a gift. These binoculars were very bright and a major upgrade from past binos. I now have a problem with the focus knob and Cabelas said to send them in for exchange or fix. I'm cool with that. Cabelas also said I could choose a different brand if I wanted and just send in the difference with the binos.
 I'm thinking about sending in some cash to upgrade to the Cabelas euro HD 10x42 or for the guys in the know would the vortex razor HD be the way to go? I'm going to go to Tulalip and check out both pair, but just wondering what some opinions are on either sets of glass.

I didn't look at the euro HD. But I do own the 10x42 vortex razor HD and absolutely love them... just wish the 12x50 were available when I got mine. They are very light and compact compared to other 10x42 I have looked at. And that vortex warranty!

 I've got the Cabela's Euro HD 10x42's and I think they are a great bino. I've owned many different brands of binos over the years including the Leupold Gold Rings and I think these are definitely worth the extra money if you have it. I use mine in eastern WA for muley hunting and can glass for hours and they are very clear to the edges. Check them out and you'll see the difference.

I had the pre-HD Razors and didn't love them.
I am always impressed with the Meopta/Cabelas when I look through them. They are heavy but a harness should take care of that.

I have seen Vortex Razor. To be honest, I am not too impressed with that binoculars. Have you seen the new Leupold Mckinley?

I just looked through the hd vortex and compared them to the ziess hd at sportmans in federal way, both were 10x42.  I have to admit I liked the ziess a bit better, they were both at 1,000.00. If I had to chose right then and there I would have took the ziess. I had a hard time focusing the vortex, and the ziess were just a bit easier. Maby I'm just used to my steiner's that are auto focus, very clear. I was hoping the vortex were better, they had a pair razor hd 10x42's for a little over 800.00. They were not the titanium body which is the only difference between the brand new one and last years model.

Not sure where some folks are getting their info but there are No Titanium bodies on the Razor HD line of Optics whether Binos or Spotting Scopes in any year, they are all Magnesium Bodies. Too, there are no new Razor HD Binos regardless of size in the 800.00 range! We offer some of the best prices around but none fall into that price range within the Razor line.

I was probably wrong about titanium vs magnesium, I just got the two mixed up but I was at the sportsmans warehouse last sunday and they did have the razor hd in 10x40 for just over 800. The guy behind the counter said it was the older model that wasn't made of magnesium, he said the newer generation which he also had at 1,000.00,ish  was lighter. I'm not calling anyone a liar, I'm just telling you what is true. Both pairs are at sportsman's warehouse in Federal Way, if I had an extra 800. lying around I might have walked out with that pair.

Trophyhunt, I hear where you are coming from, I'm sure you were relating info shared with you by someone else. I did some digging so you can see the 3 different models of the Razor, Razor HD of 2011 & then the newest model Razor HD of 2012 & 2013, this video clip will help straighten out any confusion & glass quality. I bought the Viper HD 10x42's from ElkNut, the glasses are excellent, Paul's prices, follow up and customer service is great so your smart to keep him in mind when selecting future Bino's. I also liked Zeiss Conquest HD and the Razor HD's, Viper HD value won for me. If price wasn't a factor the Razor HD or Leica Trinovid would be around my neck.

I looked at the euro 10x42 this weekend, it is a very nice glass and feel as tough as anything on the market. But they weigh 31 0z's, that is a bit of weight on your chest or around your neck. If it wasn't for the weight they would be in the running.

The weight is the real deal breaker for me keeping the euros. I'm gonna head to cabelas tomorrow and see which ones are gonna get the nod.

I still have not decided. Tuff to figure it out when you have to keep em in the building to test. I may just save my cash and exchange them for the same ones.
