"North of Battleford about 60 miles. lots and lots of hills, rivers lakes and Elk! While on this trip we had moose and whitetail within bow range. Saw a bunch of Antelope on the way there. More gees and ducks than I've ever seen in the lower 48"

This is a statement from the guy who posted it !!!!

I heard a quote from the elk calling champ this year, he said "the better caller you are the less elk you call in" I agree with him 100%.

That 45-70 did a pretty good job on that elk.

I have noticed watching the hunting channels thats some of the hunters seem strained to show emotion , I have been wondering if you get desensitized by so much trophy hunting. When the average joe gets out there and fills his tags its a great moment hell just seeing a big animal makes me get goosebumps , and I hope that never changes !!!!!! And yes his bugling made my ears bleed but it worked  :bash:

Sorry but that was LAME...high fence if there ever was one...

And...since i"m being disagreeable :dunno:   I think they show WAY too much emotion on those hunt shows. i've killed a fair number of critters...and I have excitement over the kill, in several ways, but its never manifested by laughing or saying, "you see that, I smoked him...I smoked him"... give me a break... give the critter some respect and act like a gentlemen/lady when take its life. Its not like he even KNEW he was in this contest of survival against you... (and thats not directed at anyone..just 'You' as a general term... the hunter...

Sorry...sore spot for me... :twocents:

How did the calling work, the bull was just standing there the hole time?  I personally dont think or havent ever heard a cow elk sound like that before?  Its not like the bull could run off and jump the fence hidden in the background.

you can always spot "high fence" or "pen" hunts by the color of the antlers.  Not even worth watching...that guy was stoned or something as well.  what a putz!! >:(
